Melba Ramos

Melba Ramos, American soprano, completed her studies at the Pablo Casals Music Conservatory in San Juan, where she received the first prize at the District Metropolitan Opera Auditions in 1987. She gave her opera book shortly thereafter as Despina in Mozart’s “Cosi fan tutte”. From 1989 to 1992 she belonged to the Cologne Opera Studio. Afterwards, she was engaged until 1996 in the Emsemble of the Wuppertaler Bühnen, where she began to build up her repertoire as a lyric coloratura.
