Manuel Haumer

Manuel was born in 2006 in a musical Austrian-Colombian family. He started playing percussion with 6 years.

Manuel has been a member of the children’s choir of the Volksoper in Vienna since 2014, where he has ever since sung many solos. In 2016 he did his debut with the role of the Spirit in Händel’s „Jephtha“ at the Festival Retz in Austria. In October 2016 Manuel was selected to sing the „Apparizione“ in Verdi‘s „Macbeth“ with Plácido Domingo under the baton of Bertrand de Billy at Theater an der Wien, Vienna. In 2017 he was invited to sing at the  „Prague Proms Festival“ the wonderful music of Danny Elfman under the baton of John Mauceri. This was repeated some months later in the show „Hollywood in Vienna“, which was broadcasted in over 40 countries around the world.

Later on, Manuel sang the role of Kurt in „Sound of Music“ at the Wiener Volksoper, as well as the solo in Gianni Schicchi and the Coroner in “Wizard of Oz“.

In 2018 he sang again at the big hall of Konzerthaus in Vienna the „Chichester Psalms“ by Leonard Bernstein, and subsequently twice in autumn with the Orquesta Filármónica de Bogotá in Colombia. Later on he performed this same piece at the Tel Aviv Opera under the baton of Dan Ettinger. In November he will sing Mendelssohn’s „Elias“ at Musikverein, Vienna.

Manuel has performed in several theatre plays such as „Tararabumbia“ (2014) and „The ideal husband“ (2016) as a part oft he festival „Wiener Festwochen“.

In 2017 ORF (Austrian National Radio) recorded the  „magic Flute“ after Schikaneder in which Manuel sang the first boy.

He ist the third of 4 brothers and loves soccer.
